Electric scooter rental starts in the Olympic Park

From Wednesday, 11 August, the electric scooter rental service will be available free of charge in the Olympic Park. This municipal service is aimed at anyone who is unable to walk to the Olympic Park or has a mobility impairment. The rental station is located between BMW-Welt and the Olympiazentrum metro station, exit south towards Olympiapark and BMW-Welt. No driving licence or previous experience is required to drive an electric scooter. Service staff provide support for first attempts at riding and also accompany riders for a short distance through the park. The electric scooter can be used for up to a maximum of four and a half hours. The only requirement is a minimum age of 18 years. When hiring, a rental application form must be filled out and a deposit must be paid, as well as an identification document produced. The booking can be made via several channels: either by telephone from Monday to Sunday, 9:00 to 19:00, on +49 (0)159/04684715, by e-mail elektromobilitaet@anderwerk.de or by visiting www.anderwerk.de/e-mobil.  The electric scooter rental service in the Olympic Park is supported by the Munich Employment and Qualification Programme (MBQ) and follows on from the successful "electric scooter rental in Hellabrunn Zoo" pilot project. The Department of Labour and Economic Affairs is implementing the project with the social enterprise Anderwerk GmbH in close coordination with Olympiapark München GmbH and the municipal advisory council for people with disabilities.
