John Miles (“Music was my first Love”) - a permanent feature of the Nokia Night of the Proms - was presented with a symbolic key on the stage of the Olympic Hall because he had “opened the door” more times than any other performer. No other artist has made as many appearances as “Mr Music” - John Miles has picked up his guitar at least 50 times in the Olympic Hall, not only at the Proms, but also supporting every appearance by Tina Turner.

 

In recognition of this record, he has also taken his place on the Munich Olympic Walk of Stars. During the ceremony, Proms promoter Dirk Hohmeyer also presented John with a key-shaped cake from the Olympic Park. John Miles was delighted and so were his team of musicians, as they all tucked into this sweet treat during the interval of the show!
