Football World Cup public viewing in the Olympic Stadium

11.06.2014 - Olympiapark München GmbH

Bom dia copa do mundo! The Munich football World Cup TV experience is growing in the Olympic Stadium! Five more days, then the ultimate Munich football World Cup TV event will take place in the Olympic Stadium. Where? In Munich's Olympic Park, of course. After all, when it comes to public viewing for a major football tournament, the Bavarian state capital really only has one location for fans to come together and dream of victory: the Olympic Stadium. And so it will be this year too for the FIFA Football World Championship in Brazil. The programme of events first includes the preliminary matches on 16 June between Germany and Portugal (6 p.m.) and on 21 June between Germany and Ghana (9 p.m.), and finally on 26 June between Germany and the USA (6 p.m.). There are also plans to broadcast the second round, the quarter and the semi-final as well as the final - although only if Germany gets through. The stadium's gates will open two hours before the match begins. Then, 23,000 fans will take their seats on the covered grandstand, while a further 9,000 spectators can watch the action in the arena on the 140 m2 video wall. The best view of the match is therefore guaranteed, and of course there'll be plenty of fun and entertainment. This time, it will be courtesy of Radio Gong 96.3. Before, after and during the matches, Gong 96.3 cult commentator Stefan Galler will be creating a great atmosphere and relaying facts about the match. He'll be assisted by the Gong 96.3 DJs. There's also Latin Power Percussion from Bateria Z, the Gong 96.3 World Cup Hit and interesting interviews and specials, such as this: During the last second round match (26 June) between Germany and the USA, Radio Gong 96.3 and BMW's Munich branches will be "giving away" Euro 100,000! If a selected member of the audience manages to kick the ball into the goal from 45 metres, the money is his! So keep your eye on the ball! Around 45 minutes before the match begins, we'll be switching over to the TV station's pre-match show. To ensure that spectators are in fine voice to shout out their encouragement, the catering firm Arena One GmbH and Olympiapark München GmbH will be offering guests a very special service: drinks will be brought to them! All guests in blocks Z1-Z4 can order their drinks and snacks using HiTech's free opentabs App - and can then pay either in cash or directly via the App.

Admission to the public viewing area costs Euro 6 (children aged 6-14, children under the age of 6 go free) or Euro 8 (adults). Tickets are available from München Ticket GmbH, Tel. +49 (0)89 54 81 81 81, www.muenchenticket.de and at the usual advance sales outlets.
