Zucchero began his musical career as a teenager with the band ‘Le Nuove Luci’. In the 1980s, he made several guest appearances at the renowned Sanremo Festival, but his absolute breakthrough came in 1987 with the album ‘Blue's’, which took him to number one in the Italian charts for the first time. Zucchero soon became an international export hit for Italy. Whether at a concert in the Moscow Kremlin in 1990 or at a tribute concert for Freddie Mercury, whether at Sting's benefit galas, at the ‘Woodstock II’ festival in 1994 or as a duet alongside Luciano Pavarotti. He has played a wide variety of genres, from classical to soul, from gospel to folk. His home, however, has always been blues rock.
Zucchero also celebrated great triumphs with his tours: most recently in 2024 with his ‘Overdose D'Amore World Tour’, a tribute to his classic from the number 1 album ‘Oro incenso & birra’, released 35 years earlier. After a mega concert tour through 20 countries and 38 cities on three continents, Il Maestro del Blues Rock is now going on another world tour - returning to the Olympic Hall on 21 June 2026, four years after his last appearance in Munich.
