Like the books by J.R.R. Tolkien, Peter Jackson's epic film set new standards in the fantasy genre. Between 2002 and 2004, the three parts of "The Lord of the Rings" won an incredible 17 Oscars. Most recently, the "In Concert Live to Film" series was a great success worldwide, including in April 2024 in the Olympic Hall: the first part, "The Fellowship of the Ring", in which the hobbits set out from the Shire to destroy the Ring of Power in the fire of Mount Doom. On 4 April 2025, the second round will take place in the Olympic Hall with "The Two Towers". While Frodo and Sam head south-east with their new companion Gollum, Legolas, Aragorn and Gimli set off in search of the kidnapped Merry and Pippin - before the epic battle in Helm's Deep against the overwhelming number of humourless orcs takes a happy turn after all thanks to the arrival of Gandalf, Eomer and his riders...
Once again, the Munich Symphony Orchestra will play the soundtrack by Oscar-winner Howard Shore live to accompany the original version shown on the big screen. The orchestra will be accompanied by the choir of the Technical University, the Wolfratshausen children's choir and great soloists.
