The band formed in 2003 in the Australian coastal town of Byron Bay, which is primarily known as a surfer's paradise. With Parkway Drive, the town soon had a new figurehead - and a pretty loud one. In 2005, singer Winston McCall and his comrades-in-arms around guitarists Luke Kilpatrick and Jeff Ling released their debut album ‘Killing With a Smile’. The longplayer initially only caused a furore in Australia, and it wasn't until their album ‘Deep Blue’ (2010) that they made their international breakthrough - before they established themselves from Australian down-underdogs to globally celebrated top metal stars.
With the albums ‘Atlas’ (2012) and ‘Ire’ (2015), the quintet turned away from the radical metalcore they had initially practised and the songs became more melodic and catchy. One of the highlights in the band's history was their appearance as the main act at the 2019 Wacken Festival. On the tour for their seventh studio album ‘Darker Still’, they also rocked the Olympic Hall in September 2022. Three years later, they are returning with an even more powerful show, according to the announcement. ‘We're bringing more fire,’ says frontman McCall, ’more energy and a production that's bigger than anything we've ever done before.’
