The performer from Mullingar, Ireland, had his breakthrough in 2010 when he joined Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik on the casting show "The X Factor" to form One Direction - before the boy band's debut single "What Makes You Beautiful" reached number one in the British Top 40 in September 2011: five days after Horam's 18th birthday.
Until 2015, One Direction celebrated further great successes, with more than 80 million records sold and top placements of their five studio albums in the charts worldwide. After the band's break-up, Niall Horan took off as a solo artist and rose to become one of the most successful musicians in his native Ireland with his sound of pop, folk and tender rock. His solo debut "Flicker" reached the top of the charts in the USA, Canada and Ireland. After "Heartbreak Weather", the album "The Show", released in June 2023, is the third longplayer by the singer, who musically moves in a fascinating melange between casual crooners like Frank Sinatra and Michael Bublé on the one hand and classic rock greats like Fleetwood Mac and The Eagles. To be marvelled at and cheered on 20 March 2024 in the Olympic Hall.
