Martin Rütter actually wanted to become a sports reporter. So after leaving school, he studied sports journalism at the German Sport University in Cologne. After studying animal psychology, however, he decided to dedicate his professional life to his second great passion: Dogs. In 1995, at the age of 25, he founded his first dog school and developed his unique philosophy of individualised and partnership-based training for humans and dogs. There is now a network of more than 150 dog schools throughout Europe that work under his name and according to his methodology.
He became known to an audience of millions on television through programmes such as ‘Der Hundeprofi’ and series such as ‘Die Unvermittelbaren’ and ‘Die Welpen kommen’. He is also the author of numerous books centred around the relationship between animals and humans. His entertaining and amusing live shows have been watched by more than two million fans. Rütter also presents entertaining stories and hilarious anecdotes from past decades on his ‘He just wants to play’ tour. He provides valuable tips and helpful advice. And, as always, in his typical, incomparable style.
