Mengoni became famous in Italy in 2009 as the winner of the casting show ‘X Factor’, with his final song ‘Dove si vola’ reaching number 1 in the charts. He reached the top position in Italy in 2010 with the EP ‘Re matto’, as well as with all of his studio albums: from ‘Solo 2.0’ (2011) to the Materia trilogy with the albums ‘Terra’, ‘Pelle’ and ‘Prisma’ between 2021 and 2023. He celebrated an overwhelming triumph at the Sanremo Festival in 2013 with ‘L'essenziale’. A success that he was able to repeat ten years later with ‘Due Vite’. In 2023, he also won the prize for best cover at the same venue, together with the Kingdom Choir for their interpretation of the Beatles classic ‘Let It Be’.
Mengoni has also won a number of international awards, including Best European Act at the MTV European Awards in 2010 and 2015. In 2015, he was also the first Italian artist to perform at the Billboard Film & TV Music Conference in Los Angeles and the first Italian on the MTV World Stage. Another highlight of his career: the sold-out Open Air at the Stadio San Siro in Milan with 56,000 spectators. Following his single release ‘Mandare tutto all'aria’, Mengoni is now going on tour in Europe again in autumn 2025.
