In 2014, trombonist Roman Sladek founded the formation together with other students from the Munich University of Music. Just one year later, the Jazzrausch Bigband became the house band of the legendary nightclub "Harry Klein" as artist in residence. A big band in a techno club, a novelty. The ensemble was soon celebrated internationally with around 100 performances a year, whether at festivals or at concerts such as at New York's Lincoln Center.
In their fascinating crossover, they combine elements of Mahler and Beethoven with a fat groove and hard electro beats, jumping over to soul, funk and hip hop and making every hall shake. A band that doesn't fit into any mould, that has fun crossing boundaries and playing the dance-crazy audience into ecstasy. To celebrate its tenth anniversary, the Jazzrausch Big Band is now celebrating its premiere in the Olympic Park. The "Surround Sound Super Rave" in the Small Olympic Hall will be the biggest show in the band's history, with a new stage design and innovative pyro effects. Plus the best songs from a decade, wild solo interludes and a mercilessly good performance from 25 musicians. An evening for a powerful jazz frenzy.
