James Blunt released his first album in October 2004, but it wasn't until a good five months later that it landed in the British Top 100 for the first time in March 2005. When the third single ‘You're Beautiful’ became a mega-seller and stormed to number one in the song charts, ‘Back to Bedlam’ was also placed at the top of the album rankings. Ultimately, Blunt's debut long-player became the best-selling album of the entire noughties in the UK.
His six other albums also reached the top ten in his home country, but none of them achieved the sales figures of his debut success. ‘I've released seven studio albums, but ‘Back To Bedlam’ was the only one that people actually bought,’ joked Blunt before the release of the new remastered version of his original album. ‘So for the twentieth anniversary, the record label and I thought we should repackage it with some early demos and cannibalise it as much as possible. And at my concerts, people only ever want to hear the hits from ‘Back to Bedlam’ anyway.’ James Blunt is guaranteed to fulfil this wish on his upcoming anniversary tour. You can see for yourself on 2 March 2025 in the Olympic Hall.
