As controversial as he is and as much controversy his lyrics generate, Andreas Gabalier is one of the most successful musicians in the German-speaking world. The folk rock'n'roller, who competed in the Austrian Grand Prix of Folk Music in 2009, had his breakthrough in 2015 with "Hulapalu" - a single that has sold more than one million copies so far and won the Diamond Award for it. One of his career highlights was then his biggest performance to date, the first Open Air in Munich's Olympic Stadium in 2016 in front of 70,000 fans.
For four years in a row, he played to an always sold-out stadium at the same venue until 2019, another unique record in the history of the Olympic Park. After the pandemic break, the Styrian boa will be back in the park for his performance in the Olympic Hall on 19 May 2023, with many songs from his seventh studio album "Ein neuer Anfang" (A New Beginning), released in 2022, and many hits from previous years, from his most successful albums in Germany, "Mountain Man" and "Vergiss mein nicht". Munich is ready for the ultimate Dirndl madness. Here's to a Hulapalu.
