Alice Cooper

Too Close for Comfort Tour

Olympic Hall

"I like to keep moving," said Alice Cooper in an interview in the summer of 2023, "sitting around is just a waste of time. I've never been in such good shape." And that in his mid-70s! His fans can now see for themselves once again just how dazzlingly fit the old master of shock rock really is. At his live performance on 8 October in the Olympic Hall - together with metal queen Doro Pesch.

This unique career began 60 years ago, when the 16-year-old pastor's son founded "The Earwigs" with high school friends in 1964 under his real name Vincent Damon Furnier and covered Beatles songs. From 1968, Furnier performed with the band "Alice Cooper" - before taking on this name as a solo artist from 1974. His furious stage shows, which Cooper elaborately staged with horror effects from the torture chamber, became characteristic early on. Whether he had himself put into straitjackets, put himself under the guillotine or dangled from the gallows, shock effects along with vast amounts of spilt fake blood became the trademark of his live performances. In some cases, the youth protection authorities intervened and only released the concerts for people over 18. The ghost train was eerily beautiful.

In 2023, Alice Cooper proved that he is far from thinking about retirement, even in his old age, not only by playing an impressive 67 concerts in North America, but also with the release of his 29th studio album "Road", which received rave reviews. Incidentally, Cooper's spectacular support act in the Olympic Hall will be ex-Warlock singer Doro Pesch. The Queen of Metal and the King of Horror - what a dream team.
