38th MRRC Munich New Year's Eve Run

Running lovers of all ages are invited to take part in the four competitions: 500-metre children's run, two-kilometre school run, five-kilometre road run and ten-kilometre fun run and road run. Runners with baby joggers are also welcome. Councillor Beppo Brem is looking forward to giving the starting shots. Sports presenter Peter Maisenbacher, together with his daughter Maresa Bredl, will lead through the running programme in an experienced and witty manner.

This year, all competitions start and finish at the Werner-von-Linde Hall and take participants on a circular route through the Olympic Park. The New Year's Eve run starts at 10.30 a.m. with the distribution of starting numbers. The starting signal for the children's run will be given at 11.00 am. At 11.05 a.m., the two-kilometre course starts for the schoolchildren, before the five-kilometre and ten-kilometre fun runs and road races begin at 11.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. respectively.

The ten-kilometre course has been measured by the German Athletics Association and is eligible for the best list. On this and the five-kilometre course, pacemakers will be on hand to help runners achieve their desired times. 

The award ceremonies will take place directly after the competitions. Participants in the children's run will receive a medal at the finish line and - like all runners - the New Year's Eve run mug, which has achieved collector's status over the years due to its changing motifs. A prize draw also awaits the "finishers".

Around 3,000 runners take part in the Munich New Year's Eve Run every year. The Munich RoadRunner Club (MRRC), Munich's largest running and triathlon club, organises this unique New Year's Eve run in Munich with the support of over 100 volunteers.
