On the 5-kilometre lap, not only does each kilometre have its own motto, but the main focus is on the shared experience, the community, hope and fun - because that is also part of mental health. We donate a portion of the proceeds to other organisations that are also committed to mental health.
The MHRR is a great opportunity to bring the topic of mental health closer to even more people - away from mental illness, diagnoses, severity & co. but with a good atmosphere, many like-minded people, a great backdrop and paired with exercise, inspiration and motivation. Doing something good for your own (mental) health and at the same time setting an important example for mental health - that summarises the MHRR. 94% of participants from 2023 are taking part again this year, 92% recommend the run to others, 63% learned something new about mental health during the event last year and satisfaction with the run and the organisation was 8.83 out of 10 points - if those aren't clear figures.
The MHRR is not about power and performance - but for all those who like to keep an eye on their time, there is of course professional timekeeping on site - but about the shared experience of #mentalhealthrocks, to see that mental health concerns and connects us all. It's about seeing the topic in a positive context, exchanging ideas with other people, breaking down fears of contact and reaching many people (spectators, Olympic Park visitors, media, ...) in a new, unfamiliar way with the topic.
