The band, whose exciting crossover style between rock and country, blues and metal has been dubbed ‘Elvis metal’, was formed in October 2001. Poulsen and his comrades-in-arms caused a sensation with their second demo ‘Beat the Meat’, which was named demo of the month by ‘Metal Hammer’. With a phenomenal performance at the Roskilde Festival in 2006, they boosted sales of their debut album ‘The Strength’ - before storming to number one in the Danish charts with their follow-up ‘Rock The Rebel - Metal The Devil’.
‘Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies’ became their first album to top the charts in Germany in 2013, as did their three subsequent longplayers, most recently “Servant of the Mind” (2021). Shortly before their 25th anniversary, Volbeat are on the road with their new album ‘God of Angels Trust’ on the biggest tour in their history; the five-month concert tour with well over 60 appearances is rightly entitled ‘Greatest of All Tours Worldwide’. After starting in Vancouver in June and spending more than two months in North America, the tour heads to Europe in September. With ‘Bush’ and ‘Gel’ as top-class support, Volbeat will also be coming to the Olympic Hall on 6 and 7 October.
