‘Şımarık’ was the name of the song with which Tarkan Tevetoğlu, who was born in Alzey, Rhine-Hesse, took off at the end of the 1990s. The song reached several top positions in the European charts, including sixth place in Germany, and received gold and platinum awards. The Şımarık version of ‘Kiss Kiss’, covered by Australian singer Holly Valance, also caused a worldwide sensation. In 2002, Tarkan supported the Turkish team at the football World Cup in Japan and South Korea with the song ‘Bir Oluruz Yolunda’ (On your way we unite) - and with success. With 3rd place, the country celebrated the best placing of a Turkish national team at a World Cup.
As part of his Metamorfoz tour, he later became an acclaimed star himself at open-air concerts in football stadiums, whether in Cairo or Buenos Aires. He also played legendary arenas such as the Alexandra Palace in London and the Olympia in Paris. Following the release of his long-awaited album ‘Kuantum 51’, Tarkan is now embarking on a European tour, where he will perform his unforgettable classics as well as brand new songs live at the Olympic Hall on 30 May 2025.
