Marc Martel had already been on the road with his band ‘Downhere’ for more than ten years when he heard about a call from the remaining Queen members in 2011. They were looking for a vocal double of their figurehead Freddie Mercury, who died in 1991, for a tribute band. When Martel uploaded his interpretations of ‘Somebody To Love’ and ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ to YouTube, he not only inspired an audience of millions, but also Queen drummer Roger Taylor: ‘That voice. You close your eyes, hear him sing and think it's Freddie. It's really scary.’
With ‘The Queen Extravaganza’, he travelled the world for six years, after which Martel went on tour with his own production ‘The Ultimate Queen Experience’. And in 2019, he lent his voice to lead actor Rami Malek for a few songs in the cinematic Mercury homage ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’. In 2020, he finally celebrated the premiere of ‘One Vision of Queen’, since then the singer has thrilled more than 250,000 fans in German-speaking countries alone. After 2023 and 2024, Martel will also be bringing his show to the Olympic Hall in 2025, with a great band and all the big hits from ‘Another One Bites The Dust’ to ‘Killer Queen’ and ‘Don't Stop Me Now’.
