Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble were discovered in 2009 during the casting show ‘Ti lascio una canzone’ on Rai Uno. The trio's first album ‘Il Volo’ with the title of the same name was a huge international success. In 2015, the tenors won the traditional Sanremo Festival with ‘Grande amore’ and qualified for the Eurovision Song Contest, where they came third. With their own interpretation of world hits such as ‘Volare’ and ‘My Way’, ‘O Sole Mio’ and ‘Nessun dorma’, they sang their way into the hearts of millions of fans worldwide and thrilled their audiences at their live shows not only with their strong voices, but also with plenty of humour, charm and coolness.
Il Volo (‘The Flight’) had a special goosebump-inducing performance in 2019 on the occasion of the XXXIV World Youth Day in Panama, when they sang their version of ‘Ave Maria’ in front of Pope Francis and over a million people - before flying to the stars in 2024 with their album ‘Ad Astra’. After their acclaimed tours in 2023 and 2024, Barone, Boschetto and Ginoble will return to the stage in 2025 - including a guest appearance in the Olympic Hall. The trio's high-flying career continues unabated.
