On 05 November, Munich will be the venue for the fifth edition of the "Day of Handball" for the first time. The German U18 juniors will meet Turkey in the Olympic Hall, while the women's senior team will take on Hungary three weeks before the World Cup. The men's national team will face the African champions and this year's World Cup quarter-finalists Egypt. For the team of national coach Alfred Gislason, this is a real endurance test, two months before the start of the European Championship in Germany - and for the Munich audience, the right foretaste of the home tournament in January 2024, when the Olympic Hall will be the venue for twelve preliminary round matches.
In addition to the three international matches, the "Day of Handball" in the Olympic Hall also offers a colourful supporting programme with numerous hands-on activities, especially for children and young people. For example, children between the ages of 6 and 11 can put their coordination, technical and athletic skills to the test in five exercises and earn the Hanniball Pass, the official DHB playing badge. There will also be a musical highlight for the visitors. Shortly before the start of the men's match against Egypt, Culcha Candela will perform the official European Championship song "Celebration" live on the stadium floor. A day to celebrate handball.
