In 2006, Tobias Forge, former singer of the death metal combo Repugnant, founded his new band Ghost. The debut album ‘Opus Eponymus’ was celebrated euphorically in the scene right after its release in 2010, with the magazine ‘Rock Hard’ calling the band ‘the big thing of the hour in the underground’. With the follow-up album ‘Infestissumam’, they won their first of four Grammis, Sweden's best-known music award, in the hard rock/metal category in 2014. Forge and his comrades-in-arms made rock history in 2016 when Ghost became the first band not from the USA or the UK to win the Grammy for Best Metal Performance with their song ‘Cirice’. And in 2022, they not only won the American Music Award for Favourite Rock Album of the Year with ‘Impera’, but also took first place in the German album charts for the first time.
After their triumphant ‘re-impera tour’ of the USA in 2023, Ghost released their magnificent music film ‘Rite Here Right Now’ in the summer of 2024, about which the Los Angeles Times wrote: ‘One of the best live bands - and now they have the film to prove it.’ They will also provide proof of their phenomenal live performance in the Olympic Hall on 24 April 2025.
