The brothers Walt and Ron Disney brought 500 dollars in start-up capital with them when they opened the "Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio" in Los Angeles on 16 October 1923. At the beginning, the rise to market leader in the global entertainment industry was far from foreseeable. For the anniversary exhibition, the Walt Disney Archives have now opened their secret treasure troves for the first time to show visitors a number of extraordinary and surprising objects, including more than 250 rarely shown original works of art and artefacts, costumes, props and memorabilia.
The unique exhibits will be presented in the Small Olympic Hall from 18 April to 3 September 2023 in ten imaginative galleries, with interactive and innovative installations. "Disney100: The Exhibition" takes you on a journey through a century of adventure, magic and fantasy and celebrates the classics from "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" to the latest animated film "Strange World" as well as the newest members of the Disney family Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel and National Geographic. There are also insights into the making of the films, shows and attractions from Disneyland to Walt Disney World.
