Actually, they were already gone. After their 2004 album with the fitting name ‘Adios’, the Onkelz seemed to be history before celebrating a sensational comeback ten years later at two open air shows at the Hockenheimring. With ‘Memento’, their first album after the creative break, they immediately conquered number 1 in the German charts again in 2016, as well as with their 17th studio album ‘Böhse Onkelz’ in 2020.
After a celebrated open-air summer in 2024 with performances at venues including the Waldbühne in Berlin and the ski jump in Bischofshofen, the Onkelz will be touring Germany's biggest arenas again at the end of 2025 to mark the band's 45th anniversary. ‘Your choirs, your energy and the moments we shared on the 2024 open-air tour still resonate with us,’ the band said in a statement. ‘This magic won't let us go and that's why we can't wait to invite you to the ‘Hier sind die Onkelz’ tour in 2025.’ Fans and all Onkelz nieces and nephews can therefore look forward to another double concert in Munich. As with the last two guest appearances in 2016 and 2022, the band will be playing the Olympic Hall on two evenings on 8 and 9 December.
