The Opera Spectacle 2024 would like to take all spectators to the scene of the action, to ancient Egypt, as soon as they enter the Olympic Hall. A soft chirping can be heard, warm wind blows around the audience, there is a scent of spices, desert sand and the sea. As the sun rises, the performance finally begins, not only on the huge stage, but in the entire interior, amidst the astonished visitors.
With the mega-opera event of the year, the team led by concept developers and producers Elise Barendregt-Loermans and Jasper Barendregt sets completely new standards for the story about the Ethiopian king's daughter Aida and her tragic love for commander Radames. 250 performers, including the 60-piece Hanseatic Symphony Orchestra under the baton of conductor Michael Ellis Ingram, 50 dancers and 40 choristers are just some of the impressive numbers. One of the absolute eye-catchers, apart from the magnificent scenery, is the lifelike elephant lady "Ayana", five metres high and controlled by nine puppeteers. AIDA in the Olympic Hall, a two-hour major event, a spectacle for opera fans and for those who want to become one.
